Has anyone ever been to a SolidWorks world? Are you going or would like to go?

I was hoping to make it this year. But no luck…

    Hello Mike,

I am going to SolidWorks world this year for the first time.
My company is sending me and 3 other colleagues of mine.
It should be a blast since I passed the CSWP exam this past November.

      Hello Victor,

Congratulations, both on passing the CSWP exam and the trip. I have at least one friend in the Denver area going this year. I think it would be great if everyone going could get together. I got the in invite to the CSWP special event on Monday, January 23. Free CSWP T-shirt too. Are you going to be there on that night?

I do plan on attending the special event on Monday night.
It should be a blast! I'll be sure to take some pics.

Well, now I am here. Already exhausted. And I have not even left Caesars Palace yet!

That is great. Can you give us a play by play? What is the best thing you have seen so far?

Wow! I was planning a play by play, but I just never found the time. Things happening from 7AM to well...7AM.

Extremely exhausted now. I am just trying to get my head around what is new and publicly released. Lots of new stuff coming up. COSMOS Motion will now be in SolidWorks Office Premium. Lots of new additions in the COSMOS packages (The funky music is not included though.)

Another thing is the inclusion of 3D scanning with the Next Engine built right into SolidWorks.

Saw lots of add-in stuff too. One neat thing for people involved in IP is a file shredder for controlling access to files you send to customers and suppliers.

Well now it is late. Time to sleep and get the early flight out.

Been to a few (Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Orlando twice).
While I would like to go this year (I like the fact it's a world conference again) the pull of a New Zealand summer is just too strong.

It's a great place to meet all kinds of people, whether you are a user, reseller, solution partner or whatever. Sitting down to lunch with a bunch of strangers who understand what you do (and vice versa) is quite a buzz and some good networking goes on. Checking out what it new at the seminars is a bonus.

Part of the job is for me to go. I now work as an application engineer for CAE NorthWest one of the SolidWorks resellers. Now I am trying to explain to my wife that a trip to Las Vegas in the middle of the wet Vancouver winter has nothing to do with sun, drinks and dancing girls.

My schedule is booked from 7AM to 11PM you would think that would convince her....

"Checking out what it new at the seminars is a bonus. " Wow, I would love to go. Next year. Do they do a CSWP event every year?

Hey Dan, Maybe you should take your wife. Then she can see how busy you are. She can see the sites and get away from the cold for a while.
