Does anyone know if SW has a clothing or fabric type set of tools were
you can design a piece of clothing, blanket, tarp or the like give it a
thickness, stiffness, and weight and then let it drap over a model with
the effect of gravity on it?
Or at least a tool that can distort a model in a ripple and cres
manner as if it was being smashed like a tin can?
I need a brainiack on this one.
Cheers

Re: Clothing or fabric type tool
Sun, January 14, 2007 - 1:49 PMNot that I know of , yet the SW2006 has a net of nice tools that will let you shape parts after they are made. <flex>, <deform>, and <Shape>
SolidWorks does not seem like a good fabric software. if you design it as a sheet metal part you can get a flat pattern of it. if you make it a surfaces you can <trim>, <extend> and <knit> the surfaces but I don't think it will unfold for you. I am just getting to installing the sw2007 SP02 version so i am not sure what new tricks it has.

I'll have to look around and see if I can find a good program for that.
