I need some! I'm doing some research on the best modeling practices and my first issue is the color of a part. I would like to know how many people try to make the part look real in solidworks? I would also like to know how many people have certain colors asigned for certain materials (ex. all sheet metal might be different shades of blue, all purchased parts might be different shades of green)? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: parts color scheme
Wed, May 24, 2006 - 10:21 AMAbout two years ago we struggled with trying to make photoready modles that would accurately represent the color of a part the guy working on the project probably burned up about 4 packages of photo paper and one or two sets of ink cartridges trying to make marketing happy with the colors. After two years we still don't have realtime parts from all that. Nor a marketable product. The guy that was on that project has also left the company and is no longer working in Solidworks! -
